History of Mundipharma House

In May 1995 Mundipharma AG moved to its present address, St. Alban Rheinweg 74, situated close to the banks of the Rhein in the picturesque city of Basel, Switzerland, the headquarters of two of the largest pharmaceutical multinationals.

The Mundipharma House was originally built in 1787 and has seen quite a few renovations and changes in its time. During its history of 200 years the house has been home to a printer's shop, a rental house for 12 families and is currently listed as a historical monument. The most recent renovation took place during 1994 and 1995 when architectural changes transformed the inside of the house, without destroying its  exterior charm. The building is now a modern work place for Mundipharma's employees . At the inauguration on May 5, 1995, Professor Chen Minzhang, Minister of Public Health, People's Republic of China, was present to mark this memorable day.
